The passing of time is a recurrent theme in my work. ‘8 weeks’ comprises pieces of steel left out to rust for 1 to 8 weeks, and ‘Messages from a milkman’ records the delivery of milk every week over 3 years, revealing time spent away from home. ’24 hours’ is a series of drawings of the same landscape over one midsummer’s day, while an imaginary landscape changes over time in ’Transient landscape’. The ‘Wall’ drawings are done by touch alone, with the time taken for each layer noted in minutes - in contrast to the geological time taken for the creation of the sedimentary rock. ‘Layers’ and ‘Millennia’ reflect the long process of sediments settling down to eventually form rocks.
